Pentwater Toy Box with Air Fun Kites, is a 17 year fixture in downtown Pentwater.  Pentwater Toy Box and Air Fun Kites were previously separate shops and have been combined in the Air Fun Kites location, at 167 South Hancock.  The store is a beautiful two story 100 plus years old, wood floors and high tin ceilings.

Mike and Sue Castor opened Air Fun Kites in 1998 and Pentwater Toy Box in 2002.  Since then, these stores have been providing unique and interesting toys and kites to local residents as well as Pentwater’s many tourists.  In 2014 The Castors decided to transition out of retail and into retirement.  They placed an ad for interested parties, and Kimm Kandalec saw the ad and made a call.

Kimm Kandalec took a leap of faith in 2015 and with the support of her family, purchased the store from The Castors and moved to Pentwater.  Kimm keeps the shelves stocked with adorable plush toys, a large selection of Melissa and Doug, Fat Brain Co. toys, and tons of beach toys and sports kites.  Fun and unique games are always available to try in the store.  There is also a good selection of travel games and crafts for the car or rainy day.  The store offers jigsaw puzzles, dolls, locally made doll clothes, cars, trucks, and flying things.
